How I Work

I specialize in supporting transgender, non-binary, and other LGBTQ+ individuals struggling with social anxiety, drawing from my own experiences transitioning and helping hundreds of others. With therapy, we can work collaboratively to uncover your innate wisdom, cultivate fulfilling relationships, and increase your confidence and sense of belonging.

In our work together, I will strive to offer healing insight and perspective, supporting you to expand your comfort zone with a sense of safety. Together we will access hidden emotions and process them in your body, mind, and spirit, to enhance your experience of the fullness of life. Along with your conscious thoughts, our work can include mindfulness of sensations in the body, visualizations, and breathwork.

About Me

I offer expertise in social anxiety, relationships, spiritual connection, and 10 years of experience working with gender diverse and LGBTQ+ people at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Northwestern University.

My published research focuses on engaging in meditative inner dialogue with an expansive part of oneself—as well as the feelings of care, safety, and lightness such practices can offer. In addition, I conduct research on body relaxation, breathwork, and guided visualization exercises to improve mental health and well-being among transgender people. Over a decade of personal daily meditation practice and spiritual study also profoundly informs my life and my work with clients.

I am a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology, specializing in depth psychology, at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and a Psychological Associate (PSB 94027195) working under the supervision of Dr. McDavitt.

Fees & Insurance

My full fee is $225 per 50 minute session, but I offer therapy on a sliding scale, so ask me about the possibility of a lower fee if needed due to economic limitations.  I provide a monthly receipt for clients to submit to their insurance plan for reimbursement, if their plan covers out-of-network psychotherapy.

Trans Adult Support Group

I will be offering a support group, open to all transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse adults. The group is limited to eight participants and will meet weekly via Zoom, with a minimum commitment of eight weeks. To learn more contact me at (213) 973-8386 or loubigelowtherapy@gmail.com
